Welcome to Grounded Goods

At Grounded Goods, everything begins with the land. What started as a seedling nursery on our 10-acre property in the Lockyer Valley has grown into something bigger, a way of sharing both the abundance of our soil and the stories it inspires.

Our journey is rooted in the belief that small actions matter. Raising seedlings without sprays or chemicals, capturing authentic stories through the lens and working with our hands in the soil are all expressions of the same values: sustainability, connection and honesty.

In our nursery, each plant is nurtured in eco-friendly pots and sustainable soil blends, carefully grown with rainwater from our tanks and guided by the rhythms of the seasons. We grow food and flowers the way nature intended, offering you more than just seedlings but a piece of the grounded life we’re building here.

Beyond the soil, Grounded Goods is also a creative studio. With over a decade of experience in photography and videography, we bring a storytelling eye to families, small businesses and local brands. Whether it’s the quiet beauty of rural life, a family’s laughter at golden hour or visuals that help a business connect with its audience, our work is always real, human and rooted in place.

Grounded Goods is where land and lens meet. It’s a home for both the seedlings we raise and the stories we tell, always guided by the same belief: that when we live with intention and share what we create, we grow something greater together.

Our story

Grounded Goods grew from a simple love of tending to the earth. My story began long before our move to the Lockyer Valley — through years spent behind the camera, in studios and cities, searching for meaning in the pace of it all. When life eventually slowed, I found myself drawn back to the soil.

I studied Film and Photography, built a creative career, and for a time, lost touch with the quiet joy that comes from growing something real. Then I met Abby. Together, we built a life filled with family, love, and the grounding lessons that come from struggle and growth. We bought our first home in Ipswich, began growing food, raising chickens and ducks, and learning the rhythms of self-sufficiency. Abby’s path into naturopathy mirrored my own journey into permaculture and sustainability — two worlds that met perfectly in our shared belief that nature provides what we need, if we listen.

That connection led us here, to the Lockyer Valley — ten acres of bushland, gardens and gum trees. It is where our family found space to breathe, create, and grow. The land has tested us, but it has also given us purpose. We have learnt through loss, grown through change, and built something worth sharing.

Grounded Goods is the result of that evolution. It is not just a nursery, nor only a creative studio — it is the heart of everything we value. A space where soil meets story, where creativity is rooted in place, and where every seed and photograph begins with care.

This is our journey, and we’re grateful you’re here to walk it with us.
